Resident Code of Conduct

Good Neighbors Interlaken seeks to provide a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for Volunteers and Residents.  For this reason, behaviors that disrupt Good Neighbors Interlaken services are not permitted. These rules apply to all places where assistance is provided, including the Volunteer’s car and the home and property of the Resident.

Any behavior that interferes with the provision of services, or is a health and safety hazard, or is not consistent with the mission of Good Neighbors Interlaken is not permitted. This includes:

  • Engaging in any threatening physical or verbal abuse of Volunteers.

  • Being intoxicated or under the influence of drugs.

  • Causing strong, pervasive odors, including those caused by perfume or cologne or body odor.

  • Asking Volunteer assistance for something that the Participant is likely able to obtain by paying for such services themselves.

  • Asking Volunteer to work in an environment that is a health and safety hazard.

Any Volunteer who encounters any of the above behaviors will decline to provide requested assistance and immediately leave the Resident’s premises or refuse to drive the Resident in the Volunteer’s car.

Disregarding the above rules may result in Participant’s loss of the opportunity to request Good Neighbors Interlaken assistance. Decisions can be reviewed by contacting the GNI Steering Committee.
