Volunteer Code of Conduct
Good Neighbors Interlaken seeks to provide a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for Volunteers and Resident. For this reason, the following rules apply to all Volunteers providing assistance under the auspices of Good Neighbors Interlaken:
Never share any information about Participants name or personal matters with anyone except the Good Neighbors Interlaken Steering Committee, the Interlaken Community Action Group (ICAG) and other GNI Volunteers.
Keep accurate records of the type of service requested: When, how and who provided the service; and the outcome of the request. GNI Steering Committee will collect and maintain these records.
Do not provide services to a Resident when the Volunteer is under the influence of alcohol or drugs or has an infectious health condition.
Do not become involved in the financial affairs of Residents.
Report to law enforcement and/or social agencies any concerns about possible abuse or harm to Residents.
Protect and promote the dignity and privacy of Residents .
Feel free to decline, for any reason, an invitation by GNI to provide a service to a Resident on a particular day or time.
Only agree to provide assistance or service for which you are qualified, experienced, and competent.
